Uday Kawale
Size: 24 in x 24 in, Photograph on tin sheet
An avid traveller with a sensitive eye, Uday’s life in Mumbai has attracted him to the
migratory settlements rampant in every spatially available part of the city. These are the
people that crowd the city, are the ground working masses that come out and crawl
back to their close knit settlements. To Uday’s artist’s eye, they seem like ants coming
out of their anthills. His lens has captured the beauty of human sustainability, our
capacity to outlive like any other species in nature. With bright blue, an Indian red and
the stark grey, the summer light shines in the micro homes; life goes on, makes us gasp
and admire the aesthetics of modern living.
