THEME:

BEGIN AGAIN-: Light — Renewal, Regeneration and Reflection

Even though the pandemic has brought fear and anxiety in the minds of many globally, creativity is what keeps life afresh and anew and brings freedom in the inner atmosphere of our minds. Happy emotions follow thoughts of renewal. Happiness you feel is expressed in art. Happiness is our true nature, the essence of life. All that is expressed is a reflection of this joy of being ! May we recall this and create deliberately, let the expression flow in the light of sensitivity, inspiration and insight. If every canvas of life is consciously illuminated with a connection to our innate truth, it only brightens the world with goodness and harmony. If each one feels happy just in being present to the ever presence, what a world this would be!

As you know, art, in its core, is a way of expression of the human spirit and our essential humanness. It’s origin is the fountain of life. This year for Kalanand 2021, we would like to invite you to consider to work in a theme of Light — Renewal, Regeneration and Reflection.

Looking forward to your illuminated works and appreciate your willingness to participate as you  are the very reason this platform comes alive.

JURY:
The Kalanand award selection process is a completely transparent process undertaken by an accomplished panel of artists and curators.

Artists register and fill in their profile details online by clicking the apply now button on the website and upload their art image, and enter photographs of their artwork. The details are then checked and Google image-check is used to verify that it is not a copy. Following this, the form is accepted and approved by our team.

The artworks thus approved, are stored in our database, and judging files are created with the reference number and details. A large image of the artwork is sent to the judges in digital format (in a pendrive) after removing any identifying information of the artist. Along with these images, physical judging sheets are sent, marked with reference numbers corresponding to the numbers on the images. The entries are scored on 10 evaluation parameters, totaling to a score of 100.

Each judge does the evaluation independently and the sheets and pen drives are then collected from them and the scoring data is entered into an excel sheet and compiled. The awardees are then selected by sorting the total scores on the computer.

The grant awardees are informed by email.

The list of grant winners and award certificates are then sent to respective Patrons/CSR heads to sign. This certificate goes to the award winner along with the PDAF Award certificate and cheque of the grant amount.

The selection of the artworks for contest and the grants remains solely at the discretion of PDAF and PDAF only.
